Harvest Work
Join our harvest team at The Dorset Blueberry Company this summer and enjoy a summer working outdoors, bein paid whilst you tan and meet new friends.
Compared to most fruit picking jobs, harvesting blueberries is one of the easiest. There are no thorns, almost no bending over, they are easy to pick and with a little training and your own determination to succeed, which our experts will give you, you can be earning good money quickly.
Accommodation is available
Our season runs from earlyJuly to September and you will be part of a small team of 15 to 20 people.
Work is available for 2 weeks up to 10 weeks.
Job Description
Standard working hours are 08:00 – 17:00 6 days per week with Friday off.
Our work is weather and harvest dependent.
You will be picking the blueberries by hand, into 1kg containers. Through the day, you will also re-pack the fruit into smaller conntainers that customers buy.
Full training will be given and you will generally work as a team of 2.
You will be paid per hour + potential bonus provided based on the number of kg / hr you produce during each day.
Rates for 2024 season:
Hourly Rate:
Age over 21 – £11.44
Age below 21 – £8.60
Bonus – Produce above 4kg / hr = Bonus paid at £0.50p per kg.
Minimum age: 16
You MUST have permission to work in the UK.
Accommodation
Either stay in one of our static caravans, or bring your own van. Electric, water and waste disposal available in our peaceful camping field.
Static Caravan – £10 / night / person (caravans sleep 4 and you may be sharing)
Bring Your Own Van – £5 / night / person
